Premier League reigning title winners, Manchester City, are allegedly banned from the UEFA Champions League due to breach of financial fair play. But what does that even mean? And are they kicked out of the Round of 16 and does Real Madrid get a free pass? Well, let me answer  the easier question first, no, Manchester City is still going to play Real Madrid this season and the ban will be effective next season. But the ban isn’t going to be placed on them just yet because Man City is fighting back and appealing. As for what exactly is meant by City breaking FFP rules is that they are being accused of using unauthorized money to buy players since Pep joined and turned their future around. City is accused of taking money from places in Abu Dhabi that aren’t being monitored and aren’t City’s official partners. City has also accused their trial of being “unfair and one-sided” because it’s being tried and judged by UEFA. Well, apparently the case is being judged by a private group of judges from Europe. Whether any of the accusation are true or not is something that I don’t have the answer to but more information is definitely to come. So, stay tuned and enjoy reading and watching!
