After 17 whole years, the El Clasico ended up in a goaless draw. No one, I repeat NO ONE scored a goal. This season’s first El Clasico at Camp Nou was a disaster but certainly not a beautiful one. Where as the match itself was boring, it wasn’t entirely uneventful. Real Madrid was quite upset over the overruled goal by Bale. Varane also supposedly deserved a penalty when he got injured and it wasn’t his day since he got injured twice within two minutes. And Barca captain and star player Messi surprisingly missed a goal. Madrid player Benezema could’ve scored a goal as well but shot it right at Ter Stegen. This whole match resulted in havoc. At the 55th minute, yellow beachballs were thrown onto the pitch as a political protest in support for Catalan nationalism. Later on, 46 people were injured and 5 arrested. So the match definitely made history but not entirely in a great way.
